About My Clients
Maybe it's time to stop trying to think our way out of anxiety. “If I do this, I'll be ok ” or “Once I accomplish that and that other thing happens, then I’ll finally be ok”. Does it work? No it doesn't. It might give us a brief sense of relief that gets quickly replaced by the next wave of anxiety. Yet for some strange reason we keep practicing mental gymnastics in a futile attempt to calm the mind, only agitating more.
My Background and Approach
Besides utilizing the tools of traditional therapy, (looking at the past for understanding the problem and shifting our negative thinking patterns) I use cutting edge body based techniques to help you reduce anxiety and feel better. These techniques bypass the thinking mind and address directly the source of anxiety in the body. In other words we work directly with the parts of the nervous system that are responsible for the experience of anxiety. Another important aspect of my approach is the emphasis on Mindfulness/Presence. In a way my job is to help you develop the inner muscle of presence. What do I mean by that? You can be free, feel safe and connected to yourself , when you are in presence. In other words, connecting with who you are beyond your story the immediate sense of you, embodied, grounded in the now.
