About My Clients
I work with adults (and teens 16+) who are feeling somewhat stuck but are motivated to make meaningful change in their lives. My approach is compassionate but direct and many of clients find that working with me results in creating meaningful change without requiring long term psychotherapy.
My Background and Approach
I am Founder Emeritus of one of the Pacific Northwest's largest mental health group practices and am also an AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Clinical Supervisor. My past experience includes teaching the craft of psychotherapy as an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon's Couples & Family Therapy Program. Models of psychotherapy that influence my work include (EFT) Emotionally Focused Therapy, (SFT) Solution Focused Therapy, (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as (ACT) Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I will work with you to uncover how your adult and childhood attachment issues impact your most important relationships - including your relationship with yourself. In the first few sessions, we will collaborate to come up with a working hypothesis of what is keeping you stuck and through our work together we will refine the hypothesis to create the lasting change you are seeking.
