About My Clients
Life is full of experiences that lead us to question our worth and purpose. Sometimes, those experiences empower us. Other times, they paralyze us. At their worst, those experiences redefine our bodies (and often, the world around us) as unsafe places to be. I work with clients on ways to approach this range of challenges and find safety again.
My Background and Approach
Healing often occurs in relationship - therapy provides a nonjudgmental relationship where we can practice different ways of interacting with ourselves and others. Since 2012, I have worked in community-based programs with clients ages 16-70, across a spectrum of people of color, queer, immigrant, undocumented, unhoused, and formerly incarcerated populations. I recognize the many ways that experiences, environments, and larger societal systems impact each of us. Drawing from trauma-informed, relational, and humanistic approaches, I support folks in breaking through false narratives about who they’re “supposed to be” so they can focus on who they are. We can see whether exploring the past, present, or both best helps you move toward the life you want. I also use mindfulness-based practices to guide reconnection with, feeling safe within, and learning from one’s body.
