About My Clients
My niche is in issues such as life transitions, cultural identity, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and self-compassion. I have an affinity towards multicultural, bi/multiracial, minority, and TCK individuals. TCKs, or third culture kids, are individuals who did not grow up in one or both of their parents’ passport country. These are individuals such as military kids, children of diplomats, immigrants/emigrants, and refugees.
My Background and Approach
I am trained to provide individual, group, couples, and family therapy to adolescents and adults. I have worked in outpatient and PHP/IOP settings providing intensive group and individual therapy to adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance use, and trauma. My favorite things to incorporate into therapy are humor, perspective, and authenticity. It can be uncomfortable to sit in gray areas and unfamiliarity, and I can work with you to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, in a safe and empowering space.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There is no doubt that change is scary, difficult, and frustrating. At the same time, it is 100% worth it on your journey to healing. I believe that we are all capable of sitting in the uncomfortable. The uncomfortable can be anything from trauma others have put on us to taking responsibility for any unhealthy thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that we hold. Through building self-compassion and empowering you to learn from all your experiences, I can help you find strengths that you've hidden from yourself to grow and heal. I am very passionate about identity formation, specifically related to individuals who identify as mixed race, multicultural/racial, or TCK (third culture kids). As the daughter of a veteran with a disability, this is also an area I have personal knowledge in and want to help people learn more about.
