About My Clients
The majority of my clients enter therapy seeking support in finding work-life balance, connection with themselves and others, & addressing anxious and depressive symptoms. They also want to increase self-awareness of their thought & behavioral patterns, emotions, and ever-changing personal growth. While I have a special interest in serving the South Asian community, my client base is made up of adolescents, college & post-grad students, and young professionals of various backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I began my clinical work in community mental health agencies working with survivors of trauma, domestic violence and sexual assault. I also worked with high-risk youth and ran several community-based groups focused on anger management, batterers' intervention, and trauma resilience. From there, I moved to teen treatment centers where I was able to work with adolescents and families at the residential, partial-hospitalization and outpatient levels. In my practice, I utilize a variety of skills and techniques pulling from CBT, DBT, ACT/Mindfulness, Family Systems, & Motivational Interviewing. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach; I'll introduce & use techniques depending on your needs & goals. As we get to know each other, we'll explore your past while practicing skills to manage and reduce the anxiety and stress levels you're experiencing. With the intention of promoting self exploration & growth, I may offer journaling prompts to complete between sessions.
