About My Clients
My clients are ready to change and are looking for something different from traditional talk and analytic therapy. Most are looking for deep inner change and are willing to look inside of themselves to find it, even when it is hard. Most of my clients struggle with setting boundaries, and communicating clearly what they want leading to anxiety and depression.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in Somatic Therapy! When we beguin I will be teaching you the language of somatic, and we will talk and gather information. I will pause us often to go "inside" to your body, away from your thoughts to the sensations in your body, where the answers live. This is considered a 'bottom up" approach becasue we start with the body first, mind and analyzing second.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Marna values the wisdom of the body. She believes that our bodies hold the remedy to many of our road blocks in life and that all emotions are good, even when they do not feel good. She believes that every emotion is teaching us something valuable about ourselves. Particularly when it comes to anxiety and depression. These symptoms arise when we are unable to set boundaries, say yes when me yes and no when we mean no, they arise when we do not know what we want or how to ask for it. She believes that in order to successfully lower anxiety and depression we need to learn to tolerate the discomfort and has developed strategies that work so that you can tolerate your uncomfortable emotions so that life more tolerable.
