About My Clients
Maybe you feel hopeless and struggle to find the motivation to get out of bed in the morning or maybe it feels like dread and worry plague every waking moment. Whether you are experiencing depression, substance abuse, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, or life transitions, processing them with an empathetic and non-judgemental therapist can help you survive and even thrive.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is informed by my work with clients recovering from trauma, grief and loss, and substance abuse, as well as my background as a massage therapist, and my own experiences with therapy and healing in my struggles with mental health, neurodivergence, life transitions, and grief. Helping you create a foundation of self-acceptance from which to grow and adapt in more positive, life-affirming ways is my passion. I believe you are the expert on your life and our work together will be collaborative and tailored to your needs. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based. I draw from depth psychotherapy, DBT, ACT, mindfulness and somatic practices in order to get to the root of your issues while equipping you with practical tools for everyday life. I bring my whole authentic self to each session and that means showing up as a real person and not a "clinician," dropping the occasional f-bomb, and using humor when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone is capable of growth and change. Everyone needs help some of the time. Everyone is different and therapy will look different for everyone. All of your coping mechanisms-even the ones that currently seem like they’re ruining your life-helped you survive at some point. Healing is spiraled, not linear. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Life is hard; therapy helps.
