My Background and Approach

I earned my master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Washington - Tacoma in 2011. I participated in the Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program (CTWAP) and was awarded the Outstanding CWTAP Scholar Academic Achievement Award. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). I am certified through the State of Washington as a Child Mental Health Specialist. I am an a active member of the Washington Association for Infant Mental Health and is endorsed as a Clinical Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. I have completed training through Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I have completed training in many therapeutic modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). In addition, I have completed training in neurolinguistic programming and mindfulness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My work is based on a three-tiered approach to mental health that begins with a solid foundation of self-care. The way that you take care of yourself is the foundation upon which you build the rest of your life. In order for you to heal and thrive, it's important that the foundation be as strong as possible. Once the foundational level has been well-established through consistent mental health hygiene practices, the level involves identifying and clearing limiting beliefs and emotional baggage. As a certified clinical trauma specialist, I believe that our life experiences beginning in childhood are critical in shaping our patterns and beliefs. As you begin to uncover and shift these patterns and beliefs, you can begin to experience emotional freedom and healing. Finally, at the top level, I support my clients in creating a legacy of generational healing. Through the healing of our own limiting beliefs and unhealthy patterns, we heal not only ourselves but future generations as well.
