About My Clients
I am a fierce advocate for individual therapy. All relationships begin with the relationship you have with yourself. Your distinctive character traits need to be embraced and accepted. In this day and age of social media the trend is toward comparing yourself to what others are posting. Now, more than ever, you need to “make friends” with those personality traits, talents, and experiences that make you unique and color the character of society.
My Background and Approach
I began working within the recovery community over three decades ago. Since then, my psychotherapy practice has broadened to encompass work with depression, anxiety, personal growth, addictions, recovery, relapse prevention, stress management and codependency. I work primarily with individuals. I am a proactive, approachable and seasoned therapist with over 20 years of experience. I am interactional and straightforward at times. The last thing you need is a therapist who fails to challenge or guide you. Clients come to me for objectivity and authenticity. I begin by creating a therapeutic connection which can only be achieved if you feel heard and valued, free of judgment. I will offer feedback based on patterns I observe. If it falls flat, we move on. We work as a team to identify the source of the problem and we work together for meaningful change.
