About My Clients
I work with clients on a wide variety of concerns, including career/academic guidance, relationships, parenting, and LGBTQ-related issues, but my work is beginning to center more on issues related to maladaptive eating behaviors - binge eating, compulsive overeating, and processed food addiction in particular.
My Background and Approach
My formal education is multi-disciplinary, which provides a unique mix of training and perspective that I draw upon when working with clients. After earning a bachelor’s degree in animal science, I graduated with a master’s degree in clinical psychology, and again with a doctorate degree in supervision, curriculum, & instruction – higher education, specializing in psychology. I also hold a master's in nutrition, as I am very interested in nutritional psychology and continue to spend a great deal of time studying the role nutrition plays in mental and physical health. I tend to work from humanistic, cognitive, behavioral, and solutions-based perspectives.
