About My Clients
I'm Meg Decker (she/her), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who works with adults of all ages. Many of my clients come to therapy to address issues related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, prenatal and postpartum challenges, and issues related to relationships and self-worth. I am particularly passionate about serving young adults (18 -29) as they navigate the complex world of adulthood.
My Background and Approach
As a social worker, my lens is broad, exploring how our environment and experiences affect our physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. Practicing from a cultural-relational framework, the foundation of my approach emphasizes the power of connection and mutual empathy in creating change. I approach every therapeutic relationship with an open mind and tailor my therapeutic approach to fit my client’s individualized needs. Working collaboratively, individuals develop a treatment strategy rooted in evidence-based practice that is person-centered and goal-oriented.
My Values as a Therapist
As a therapist, I embrace the following philosophies: We as humans all have a desire and drive to form meaningful relationships and find acceptance; That empathy can change the world; Sometimes, small steps in the right direction are the most significant steps in the end; That change is possible when you allow yourself the space to do the work; That you are strong enough to be present with what you may be going through; That therapy should address the person as a whole- their mind, body, and spirit.
