About My Clients
I am most passionate about working with professionals who feel like they are “not good enough” or who worry about living up to others’ expectations. We can work together to help you learn to love yourself for who you are, and not for what you accomplish. Also, as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I love working with couples who argue about parenting, finances, and the chores of running a house. It's so hard to find a balance! We can work together to improve communication and spark new passion.
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about my work and I have found the therapy models that I feel complement each other and work the fastest to help you get to a life you want to be living. I will help you explore relational and emotion regulation skills to figure out how to live your healthiest, happiest life possible. I also utilize EMDR (a really awesome trauma therapy) to help you get to the root of the issue - maybe there's a traumatic event in your past that is unresolved or a negative belief about yourself that is holding you back. Together, we can learn to manage day-to-day symptoms while ensuring we address the root of the problem. If you're coming for couple's counseling, we start with the same great foundation of therapy skills to rebuild communication. From there, we figure out where resentment is being held, what behavioral changes need to happen, and how to build deep connection in the relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that mental health is equally as important as physical health, and I utilize my therapy Instagram page @bloomandthrivewithme to educate the public about mental health as well as the current social issues that keep many people from living their best lives. I maintain optimism that if we continue to push for destigmatization, it can happen.
