About My Clients

I love to work with parents, wherever they are on their parenthood timeline: from pre-conception discernment, fertility issues, grief and loss, pregnancy, postpartum, toddler parenthood, school-aged, teenage to empty-nest. Parents, at whatever stage, are in a unique position of being hugely motivated to do their best, while also grappling to balance the many demands they have on their time and potential difficulty coping with the stress that comes with parenting life transitions.

My Background and Approach

I have several years of working in a Parental Behavioral Health program with specialized trainings in perinatal mental health, postpartum mood disorders, grief and loss associated with fertility issues, IVF, or with the death of a baby or miscarriage, and special considerations for pregnancy after loss. I enjoy working with parents who are interested in exploring compassion for themselves and finding new ways of taking care of themselves so that they can more sustainably be there for their families. I have over ten years experience is various aspects of individual & community mental health and have worked with diverse and varied populations of people. I feel honored to get to know a person's whole self, including the intense emotions, thoughts, and struggles they might be dealing with. I know my clients are the experts in their own lives and I strive to create a space where they can be seen and acknowledged as the complex and amazing people they are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy can be funny and connected and awkward and sad- and I'm here for all of that. I am grateful that in my career I am able to provide therapy to many different types of people. This includes non-cis gendered and gender queer clients in their unique parenthood paths. It also includes working with clients from different cultural and racial backgrounds in a way that acknowledges my whiteness. I believe that our context in society matters in therapy, and that the relationship with a therapist should be a space to process these intersections and larger structural oppressions when they arise in the process. I also see our intersecting identities relating to one another within the broader effects of capitalism that exploits our labor and prioritizes profit over people. I believe that an injury to one is an injury to all and that we have to be there and care for each other along the way to our collective liberation.
