About My Clients
I specialize in working with people in the wake of a crisis. That could mean a loss, an attack or assault, or a deep disappointment in life. I work with children age 5 + with behavioral struggles as well as their families. As a single mother myself, I love working with the entire family system. I have seen incredible transformation in my work with trauma, addictions, relationships (e.g, codependency) and anxiety.
My Background and Approach
I went to graduate school at Brown University where I studied philosophy as a Teaching Fellow and subsequently at Boston College where I completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology, concentrating on treating trauma and abuse, especially with women. I've worked in chaotic emergency rooms, psychiatric hospitals, and group practices as a therapist. I love working one-on-one, with couples/polycules and families as a therapist. I specialize in using modalities that are meant for transformation and only use talk therapy on a limited basis in service to preparation and integration alongside what I've experienced to be more effective approaches. Those include EMDR and heart-centered hypnotherapy, using meditation, tarot, the mind-body connection, art and creativity in general. Once you are feeling grounded in your healing journey, I encourage you to explore dreamwork with me: that means connecting more with your intuition, and creating your future intentionally and optimistically.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in unity consciousness. I believe that our differences make the world a more beautiful place. I believe that we all have a purpose. I believe that no person is morally better or worse than another. I believe that therapy offers a special and sacred place that is free of judgment. I believe that therapy is an opportunity for me to provide you with my full presence from my heart-center. I believe the answer always lies within the client. I merely assist to clear out distortions so you can find your way with clarity and strength. I also believe that therapy can be fun and magical. Perhaps this is why I connect so well with children. The same goes for your inner child, to the adults out there with childhood wounds. I would be honored to connect with you as well.
