About My Clients
Many of my clients are teens and adults within high school, college, or graduate school. They are students, athletes, teachers, coaches, and other school personnel dealing with various obstacles and pressures on a regular basis. Many of them are overwhelmed and struggling to create balance and peace of mind. They’re dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-confidence, relationship challenges, school or sports performance issues, and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
As a former high school social worker, women's basketball coach, and student-athlete, I have a deep understanding of what my clients are experiencing. I offer online therapy so you can conveniently access the support you deserve, while navigating your busy schedule. My approach is strengths-based, which will involve a collaborative and empowering journey tailored to your unique values, strengths, and goals. You’ll receive a mixture of empathetic and reflective listening, thoughtful feedback, accountability, and new perspectives and tools for helping you better manage your stressors. Some things we might work on together include self-care, coping strategies, mindfulness, boundary setting, self-awareness, committed action towards your goals, and much more. Ultimately, you'll develop a stronger understanding of yourself and build the confidence and skills needed to create balance, focus, and fulfillment in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Seeking out therapy requires an immense amount of courage and self-awareness, which I greatly respect in my clients. I believe that each client is the expert of their own life, and my role is to be a supportive guide who will help you reach your full potential. The values that motivate me as a therapist in large part stem from my experiences as a social worker, coach, and athlete. These experiences have demonstrated to me the power of self-compassion, vulnerability, self-discipline, and strong support systems. They have shown me that there is beauty in our flaws and that any challenge or crisis can lead to positive transformation and change. “Obstacles don’t block the path; they are the path.” - Zen proverb
