About My Clients
My clients range from 18 to 80. I see professional men and women in their 20's, 30's and 40's working on relationship issues as well as parents dealing with learning to nurture themselves in order to give their children what they didn't receive. I see writers, directors, artists, dancers, teachers doctors, attorneys and professors as well as students and stay at home parents.
My Background and Approach
My stance as a therapist is that change is possible from the very first session. I am actively actively engaged with you to focus our exploration on the growing edge of your experience with warmth and acceptance, paving the way for you to imagine and reach w your healing - that comes from within you. Attachment and neuroscience findings show that "we're wired for healing" yet aloneness with overwhelming emotions compromise our capacities. Our therapy works at undoing your aloneness by making space to be with you and and your relationship with yourself as well as your relationships with others. I not only want to help you heal from your traumas, I want to create a safe space in the therapy space (in person or online) for you to give me feedback to become a more effective therapist for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you have, within you, what you need to heal and grow. I see myself more as a midwife or guide. I believe that mental health and attachment issues come from past experiences that have led us to create false truths about ourselves. Through my own therapy, I have gone from being someone who seemed to be connecting, yet felt more on the sidelines...to someone who is able to have deep connections with friends as well as enjoy moment to moment connections with many people I encounter from day to day.
