About My Clients

I specialize in the treatment of trauma and PTSD/c-PTSD with adults and LGBTQ individuals. I have years of experience working with people who have experienced traumas like emotional abuse, burnout, intergenerational trauma, attachment trauma, womb/birth trauma, sexual assault and the impact of the criminal legal system. I also support people who are sober, sober curious or seeking harm reduction strategies for substance use.

My Background and Approach

Before entering private practice, I worked as an individual therapist and group facilitator at a drug and alcohol outpatient program in Ithaca, New York on occupied Haudenosaunee land. Through this work I witnessed the impact of the judicial and carceral systems on people and their families, along with the stigma of substance use. I began to see that in order to build and maintain authentic healing relationships punishment, shame and judgement could not exist. This experience also helped me to examine my role as a therapist and acknowledge the intersections of identity between me and my clients, which I am continually committed to. I draw from Relational Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Somatic Psychotherapy. I am also trained in Parts Work and EMDR, which can help transcend limiting beliefs, develop more day to day ease and gain a greater sense of agency. As a therapist, I meet client’s with authenticity, warmth, curiosity and full attunement.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have the innate capacity to heal, but in order for that to happen we need to exist in spaces where we can be truly seen without judgement or expectation. I believe therapy can provide this space and create relationships that are reparative and empowering. I also believe that community is an essential part of healing and do not consider the therapeutic relationship the only place where healing can happen. I value all the ways client's seek support and recognition of their intersecting identities. As a therapist and person in the world I value anti-oppression, social justice and collective liberation, integrating those values into my therapeutic and business practices.
