My Background and Approach
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds and help you navigate stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, grief, body image concerns, compulsive eating, transitions, stage of life issues, relationship problems, crises, etc. I provide an accepting, supportive, collaborative environment where it's safe for you to be yourself. We use a combination of talking, making connections (e.g. past to present), trauma reprocessing, and skill-building--such as mindfulness, relaxation, emotion/stress management, communication, assertiveness, and problem-solving. I am a seasoned therapist with over 27 years experience. With a mind-body, client-centered approach, I use a combination of time-tested practices and state of the art techniques such as EMDR, mindfulness, an attachment and trauma focus, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psycho-education, and focusing on strengths. Clients say that I am warm and approachable and that they feel safe with and accepted by me.
