My Background and Approach
I earned a BA in Psychology from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 2019 with honors. In 2022, I earned a MA in Counseling from Lincoln Christian University with honors in Lincoln, Illinois. I worked as an family case manager where I worked with Illinois DCFS appointed families dealing with substance use, domestic violence, mental health and environmental concerns, and inadequate supervision. I gained my clinical experience working at a sexual abuse clinic providing treatment to youth that were either victims of sexual abuse or have sexual behavior problems . I have worked with trauma, separation and grief, depression, anxiety, inappropriate boundaries, mental health disorders, self-esteem, and increasing coping skills. I use an eclectic approach utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy while also using a humanistic, developmental, strength-based framework. Treatment will be adapted for each specific client as no person shares the same story.
