Seeking help is sign of strength. Men have been sold a lie that they need to be stoic and suffer in silence. The truth is that men are at their best when they can share their honest feelings with others. Then the facade of perfection falls away and men can offer their true potential to their friends, family and the world.
Beliefs are often unconscious and go unquestioned. Paradigms of thinking can severely limit our potential for growth. My counseling philosophy is founded on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which challenges people to examine automatic thoughts that may be causing them undue distress. Once brought to light, limiting beliefs can be replaced with empowering ones. Then, more fulfilling habits naturally follow, and sustained positive change can happen.
Anxiety is a natural human response. It stems from a real or perceived lack of control. The trick is to know when your anxiety is legit and real, and when it's distorted. Having suffered from anxiety myself, I understand how hard it is to get to a place of calm. I can teach you the skills to take back control and get confident again.
