About My Clients
The clients who show up in my office are individuals and families who are tired of feeling stuck in their past experiences and current challenges. Most have experienced some kind of trauma, grief, marginalization, and/or attachment disruption. As your therapist, I will develop a safe and trusting relationship with you where you can gain insight on your story and learn how to better regulate your nervous system.
My Background and Approach
I describe my therapeutic approach as trauma-informed (addressing how chronic stress and trauma impact our bodies and behaviors), attachment-focused, and systemic (understanding the impact of relationships, community, culture, and systems of oppression). I have specialized training to help people process through trauma and regulate distressed parts of themselves. I am interactive in my work with clients of all ages and believe in the power of laughter and joy in therapy. Therapy doesn’t have to be depressing in order to build our capacity for connection and growth! With kids and youth, I tailor therapy based on their needs and use a family-systems approach rooted in attachment theory often utilizing aspects of TheraplayⓇ, EMDR, and expressive arts to help strengthen families and address challenges. I require at least one caregiver to be actively involved in the therapy process. With adult individuals, I use EMDR, emotionally-focused parts work, and/or Narrative Exposure Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work with children (3+), youth, and their families, as well as adult individuals. Due to my own lived experience, I am especially equipped to serve people from the LGBTQ+ community and people who are immigrants, third-culture-kids, or from multicultural backgrounds. I also specialize in working with survivors of conversion therapy and reparative practices. I aim to use an anti-oppressive and culturally humble lens with all of my clients. My agency pre-set rate is $135/session.
