I work with adults and adolescents to develop positive coping skills for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, anger management, stress management LGBTQ issues, grief and trauma. I help my clients learn how to identify triggers and develop tool's to cope and manage their symptoms.
My Background and Approach
I offer therapy for adult and adolescent population as well as couples. I have worked in many different settings including inpatient mental health, addiction treatment centers and psychiatric hospitals.
My specialty is cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused and motivational therapy. I help my clients to better manage their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that contribute to issues affecting their life's goals and successes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we can all benefit from therapy and to learn new tools to cope with life's challenges. I have learned the tools to help manage my own symptoms from anxiety and depression. I have a strong desire to help people and that is what led me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I teach cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), to help clients recognize that we all have negative patterns of thinking. I help clients Identify these negative patterns and how to reframe them. I have personal experience with family members suffering with alcohol and drug addiction which led me to becoming a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. We do not have to suffer when there are countless tools to help manage our lives.
