My Background and Approach
My approach is very pragmatic. I won’t just sit and listen. I understand the terrain of the mind and how to help it change. I am trained in several approaches that can create new insights about your feelings and behaviors. I specialize in working with those who tend to shut down or look for quick comfort when facing the stress and challenges of life. I help my clients understand themselves and learn new coping skills that help them feel healthier and more confident.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Veteran and I believe people can change behaviors and everyone can achieve happiness. Through counseling I believe personal growth and reconnection is possible and achievable. I am committed to truly connecting, supporting, and having a dialogue with others (even if it is based on educating or being educated about race, oppression, and de-colonization) while assisting in a shame and guilt feel space. The work is challenging but I really LOVE my work.
