I deeply believe in the healing that comes from exploring our attachment wounds and addressing the resulting toxic cycles that this carries into our relationships. I've worked extensively with addiction recovery, addicted family systems and the subsequent coddpendent dynamics that ensue. I have specialty training in working with all of these populations along with personal and professional experience.

My path to healing started with a spiritual awakening that jolted me into reality and turned my world upside down as a former New Ager turned Born Again Christian. As a therapist and a truth seeker, I've immersed myself in learning about what it means to be human, how trauma impairs our overall functioning, the nature of the soul, the importance of spirituality in mental health, and how to merge Biblical wisdom to life's troubles in a way that honors your human nature.

Unresolved pain creates energetic blocks in our physiology that manifest in a multitude of ways and make us sick - mentally, physically, and spiritually. I've learned to understand human behavior, biological functioning and spiritual health through extensive research on the mind-body connection (AKA energy). I pull from concepts in mind-body research and utilize both traditional and alternative approaches.

I work heavily with the human bio-energy field. Somatic experiencing is a complimentary therapy to Energy Psychology that also focuses on energy within the body which is activated in our nervous system and felt physically. Healing trauma requires discharging the toxic stress/energy from the physical body. Have you ever felt like talking just doesn't resolve things?? That's because it doesn't; we cannot heal trauma by thought alone. It is a physical and cellular experience.

Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing is the gold-standard treatment in the field of trauma. This innovative therapy helps your brain rewire it's association to memories and experiences, resolves the physical and emotional charge in your body, and helps you to move forward past the limiting and self-sabotaging cycles of defeat.

I am an advocate for 12-step based recovery which involves God as the center of healing. Addiction is a spiritual affliction which requires a spiritual answer to overcome. I am an advocate of recovery from substance abuse and understand how deeply this illness penetrates the spirit, the family system, the sense of self, and overall functionality in life.
