About My Clients
I have been trained by leading experts in the treatment and specialization of obsessive compulsive and related disorders, including, but not limited to, social anxiety, specific phobias and health anxiety. I also specialize in providing culturally-responsive and affirming therapy to multiethnic, Latinx, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities. Additionally, I have an interest in working with mental health practitioners seeking their own therapy.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is a safe space that can bring about self-discovery and healing. I take an inclusive approach in my work, where I understand and value how intersections of culture, sexuality, gender, spirituality, family, environment, and relationships shape our identity and how we experience and move in the world. In therapy, you have a space to let your guard down and explore how various factors at play affect your mental health. You will learn skills necessary to embrace the full range of your thoughts and emotions, and also incorporate changes that align with your values. I look forward to helping you integrate all aspects of who you are into a healthy whole.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to OCD and OC-Spectrum Disorders, I have a special interest in working with multi-racial and LGBTQ+ communities. Finding effective treatment for OCD can be difficult for many individuals. For members of the LGBTQ+ community and people of color, this can be even more difficult given the unique challenges they face, and this treatment gap can have harmful consequences. I strive to help you integrate all aspects of who you are into a healthy whole.
