About My Clients
My ideal clients are folks who are pregnant or postpartum, and experiencing distressing feelings such as: excessive sadness or worry, irritability, sleep disruptions, or difficulty connecting with their baby. Others may have suffered a pregnancy loss, experienced a traumatic birth, or they may still be trying to conceive. They may struggle with perfectionism, or feel like they are not a "good parent." They want to feel more competent and confident, and reconnect with themselves and their partner
My Background and Approach
As a perinatal specialist, I am invested in helping you cultivate your inner resources so that you can show up as the best version of yourself; for you and for your family. In our therapeutic relationship, I will offer compassion and acceptance, reassurance and encouragement, as well as coping strategies specific to navigating pregnancy and postpartum life. With professional experience as a childbirth educator and community-based Doula, I've supported many families through this intense life transition. Modern parents face different challenges than their parents; and many feel like they are trying to live up to impossible standards. Together in therapy, we can consider how society and culture have shaped your expectations for parenthood, examine your attachment relationships, and reflect on how your relationships are changing with the addition of a new baby.
