About My Clients

I work with couples and women - helping them to build healthier relationships and work on common painful issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, infidelity, trauma, transition to parenthood, perinatal concerns, infertility, sexual problems, difficulty communicating, past sexual abuse, and other stressors. Many of my clients are high achieving professionals in entertainment, art, law, finance, and sport that have challenges juggling work responsibilities with their roles in the home.

My Background and Approach

I developed my areas of expertise in couple therapy and women's issues at APA-accredited training at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Texas A&M University, and the highly regarded VA Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. I am trained in approaches to therapy that are supported by research to be effective, including cognitive behavioral therapy, & mindfulness based approaches including ACT and DBT. I have a combined seven years of intensive doctoral and postdoctoral training in various approaches to couples work, and feel very passionate about this work. I am the Director of the PhD Program at California School of Professional Psychology and serve as an Associate Editor for The Encyclopedia of Couple and Family Therapy. I have also published widely about relationship issues and couple therapy. I use my experience in these areas to create a tailored, hands-on treatment that addresses your unique needs.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
