About My Clients
My clients are of diverse backgrounds/ages who seek to overcome a variety of needs. Clients seeking family support, support in grief, overcoming stress, improving daily living, developing deeper and meaningful relationships, finding genuineness and confidence in their identity or sexual orientations, and understanding child behaviors are some of the journeys I support my clients through. I listen, empathize and reframe from judgement to provide a safe counseling environment for all my clients.
My Background and Approach
There's no price on health. Health defines our outlook on life and our daily existence. Healing doesn't happen overnight. It involves patience & consistency. My life experiences and background has awarded me the opportunity to view life through a diverse lens. I have been an educator for over 13 years and most recently transitioned into a certified School Counselor position. My change in career to a School Counselor and MHC-I has been affirmed through a variety of personal experiences, communication and observations working with children and their families. I have a passion for helping individuals reach their full potential & grow. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults to help support sustain their mental strength & self-efficacy. My education background includes receiving my M.B.A. in management & minor in marketing. My second Master’s degree in Counseling Education with certification in School Counseling & extension to become a Licensed Mental Health Clinician.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Not a victim- A Survivor. I assist others to gain power and stability back into their lives by listening, and providing clients with a place for counseling that my clients can feel unjudged and safe in. Communication is key! Communication can be difficult when no one is listening. Together we can SHIFT the approach of delivery and interception of one's thoughts, behaviors and feelings to be positive. By having lived to experience myself, and through others life challenges, I realized individual tolerance and ability to overcome challenges is not easy for anyone. No individual is built the same to handle similar situations the same. There is a level of patience, understanding and empathy to have to give others comfort in using their voice to advocate for their self and work on their trauma/s. I have compassion to listen and assist others seek the resources to their recovery; internally, externally and beyond. Using a wide range of therapeutic approaches unique to the individual/(s).
