About My Clients
I see many couples who have been to therapy before and found it useful to a point where they felt okay and decided to end, but now noticing some patterns still need more work on a deeper level. Or it's their first time in therapy and they've been thinking about attending for a while now for premarital work, creating healthy relational security or conflict management. They're often interested in learning communication skills, developing self awareness and creating more fulfilling relationships.
My Background and Approach
Always having been interested in and passionate about healing since I was a teenager, I started volunteering as a peer and crisis counselor over two decades ago. That led me to seek formal training and education in clinical psychology. I seek inspiration for healing from many sources including personal experiences, formal education, mentors, therapists, colleagues, books, art and film. I understand that healing takes many forms and is possible when we create the conditions for it. As a result, I have come to strongly believe in the power of corrective experiences in relationships for healing- and from this belief I offer depth attachment work for couples and long term work with individuals. My practice has become deeply influenced in recent years by racial awareness, cultural sensitivity and inclusive compassion. I am committed to my own work of unlearning harmful biases and doing my own healing in service to my communities and patients who I feel blessed to be able to support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in inclusive compassion that supports both healing for ourselves and collectively. I identify as an ally to BIPOC, the Queer community, Immigrants and people of all sizes and neurotypes.
