About My Clients
I have discovered a common obstacle among clients is how they relate with themselves with severe self-criticism. This then impacts how clients relate in their world often feeling alone, hopeless, defeated, and disconnected. This process also intensifies symptoms (i.e. depression, anxiety, recurring trauma, low self-worth, and/or relationship issues). Taking a holistic, mind-body approach, I help clients build self-awareness and learn skills to feel more stability in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a professional psychologist with 12 years of clinical experience. I specialize in trauma (particularly family of origin trauma), gender, sexuality, relationships, and self-esteem. My personal and professional background has helped develop my approach to therapy to encompass both the mind and body. I have developed a blended approach of psychodynamic/relational theory with buddhist, self-compassion, mindfulness, and meditation principles. We work collaboratively to address your presenting concerns through self-awareness building, corrective experience, body awareness, emotional release, and skill building. My intention is to set you up for long-term well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQ+ with expertise in working with transgender, lesbian, and bisexual identified clients. My values align with building a world that strives for inclusion for all. One of my favorite quotes that I follow is "diversity is what we have and inclusion is what we do with it." I am also a practicing buddhist and incorporate meditation and mindfulness principles into my therapist lens. I believe in helping clients find balance, compassion, and curiosity in their lives.
