About My Clients
I work with young adults, adults, and couples with a range of presenting issues. I have a passion for working with LGBTQIA+, sexuality, trauma and faith identity concerns. Working with individuals or couples navigating self-doubt, shame, or identity issues due to a strict religious upbringing is an area I am passionate about and specialize in.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon and a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Idaho. I earned my Master of Science degree in Counseling at Portland State University with a focus in Clinical Mental Health and Trauma Informed Services. I became a counselor because I have a passion for helping others and have seen how personal exploration with guidance and support is one of the best things we can do for ourselves to achieve goals and desires. I draw from several theoretical modalities based upon my clients’ needs, primarily working from a humanistic and person-centered stance. My clinical approach utilizes Emotion Focused, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and Interpersonal Neurobiology practices. In our sessions, we will explore past and present experiences to inform the process of self-discovery and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every individual has the capacity to heal and grow regardless of how deep the wounds, that no one is broken beyond repair. I believe we each hold unique and intersecting identities that impact us and the way we are able to navigate the world. I have deep compassion for the parts that have protected us and believe in the depth and connection of the therapeutic relationship.
