I have extensive experience helping clients manage mild to moderate ADHD, and teach clients various treatments and coping skills to help with ADHD symptom management. I help clients understand what we know about the science behind neurodiversity and find creative solutions for common issues related to ADHD, and provide vital information to help clients make decisions on how to manage their own or their child's diagnosis.

Stress can be beneficial or harmful, but when it starts taking over our lives it can destroy relationships, lead to burnout or compassion fatigue, and affect our physical health. Stress affects all aspects of our life and can even trigger emotional "disorders" such as anxiety or depression, especially if we have a personal or family history of inflammatory or mood disorders. I can help clients identify stressors and coping skills and adjust their style of life to reflect their best self.

Attachment begins in the womb and continues to affect us well into adulthood. I have used attachment therapy to assist with a variety of different client concerns, from adoption and childhood trauma to adult relationships and mistaken beliefs about the self. Our attachment style affects how we react in friendships, romantic relationships, workplaces, and even how we make life decisions. I am primarily trained in Adlerian and Existential therapy models, and apply these beliefs to both adult and minor clients. I use the Adlerian Life Style assessment, early childhood recollections, and a variety of talk techniques with adults to gather information and tailor your counseling experience to your needs. If you've never heard of Adlerian or Existential therapy, I'm happy to give an overview during our consultation.

I was trained in Child-Centered play therapy at the University of North Texas, and received training in Adlerian play therapy during my associateship while earning my license. I am currently applying for my Registered Play Therapist credentials with the state of Texas. Play therapy is my passion, and even adolescent and adult clients can benefit from play techniques!

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-supported technique to help with processing stored trauma in the body. This can be effective for any kind of trauma, from deep-rooted childhood issues to acute trauma like an accident, assault, or environmental disaster. EMDR helps the brain heal itself through rapid eye movements and bilateral stimulation of the body and brain, and can be used with adults or clients as young as 6 or 7 years old, and in-person or online.

I assess a client's style of life and review early recollections that shape our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Our attachment style affects how we react in friendships, romantic relationships, workplaces, and even how we make life decisions. Where we've been affects where we're going, and we can examine together what makes your situation unique and tailor the solution to help you live your best life.

I started my mental health career working with victims of domestic and/or interpersonal violence, and children who were adopted or in foster care. I have studied attachment theory and the interventions to improve attachment style, such as TBRI and EFIT, and am working towards certifications in these treatments. Throughout my work, I have seen how our attachment style, developed throughout childhood, continues to affect all aspects of mental health and relationships well into adulthood.
