About My Clients
Are you always feeling a little bit on edge like a panic attack might be lurking on the horizon? Maybe you are someone that looks in the mirror and dislikes what you see. Do you feel like you can go from happy to sad really quickly? Did something happen in your past that you keep reliving in your mind and it just feels stuck? I definitely understand the struggle is REAL! I don't want you to have to suffer anymore. I look forward to helping you identify some tools to help you find some healing.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Social Worker and trained EMDR therapist. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Faith-Based specialization from Aurora University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Bradley University. I utilize a compassionate, direct, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approach to partner with clients to find healing and wholeness in their personal journeys. I believe in a holistic perspective, acknowledging there are many factors that may impact an individual’s mental and emotional health. I promote the dignity, worth, culture, values, and beliefs of the individual in the treatment process. I incorporate attachment theory, client-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Mindfulness/ Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction, and Internal Family Systems to help clients reduce suffering and reach their therapeutic goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, walking (in all seasons), hiking, journaling/ writing, painting, dancing, singing, exercising, reading, visiting local coffee shops, supporting small businesses, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. I have Christian values and beliefs. I affirm the LGBTQ+ community and believe Black lives do in fact matter.
