About My Clients
I help people who want to gain greater understanding about themselves and their environment. My clients are self-aware and struggling with their sense of self. They have been historically minoritized and sometimes have never been in therapy before. I tailor my work to each individual and their needs to ultimately help my clients build insight, attunement, and positive well-being.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in trauma and issues core to identity, specifically those who are deconstructing or reconstructing aspects of their sexuality, spirituality, gender, or ethnicity. I am certified in EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) and practice from a client-centered, insight-oriented, psychodynamic approach with adults and adolescents. I am relationally focused and utilize a strengths-based lens to empower, increase resilience, and promote positive well-being. I believe therapy is a healing, safe space; a place to deconstruct and a place to increase awareness and insight about the self. I understand that therapy is a space to learn how past experiences can play out in the present and how attachment styles and trauma can impact current and future relationships. In sessions, we will be curious and wonder together as you build insight and lower distress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are resilient, strong, and relational; I believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and known; and I am strongly influenced by justice and equity.
