About My Clients
Her post-trauma work includes clients in law enforcement (including corrections), military, medical first responders and emergency care, and firefighters. She provides care and treatment for depression, anxiety, field fatigue, employment-related trauma, and has counseled and educated family members and intimate partners of those who work in high-risk and high-stress fields. She also has extensive experience providing assessment, diagnosis, and supportive psychotherapy.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Reece has additional experience working with children and adults who have suffered life-altering burn/explosion injuries, as well as a background in treating juvenile and adult fire-setting behavior. She believes in obtaining an accurate and specific diagnosis using objective measures and assessments with clinical evaluations. The therapeutic approach is dictated by the needs and experiences of the client, and the evidence-based practice recommendations for the specific situation or diagnosis. Every client is the expert on their own experiences and deserves to be in a position to become the director of their own story. Clients are encouraged to actively participate in their treatment planning and goal setting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Years of experience working in state prisons, community mental health, and private practice, has shaped my core belief that every person has the innate ability to succeed if they are provided with the right opportunity. Sometimes, this opportunity is provided by external means and sometimes the person has to develop the means to create the opportunity for themselves. It is never too late to do something different. There is no loss so great that it cannot be overcome even if it will not be forgotten.
