About My Clients
I have had years of experience as a foster care social worker, mentor, in home counselor, medical social worker, outpatient therapist, clinical consultant, and clinical director for inpatient and community based agencies. Through those experiences, I have gained experience with adolescents and adults struggling with changes in life, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, military families, those with anxiety/adjustment disorders, and couples and families in transition.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA where I continue to practice and serve my community. After serving in the United States Marines Corps, I graduated with my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from Norfolk State University, obtained licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, and completed trainings in Trauma Informed Care, suicide intervention skills, and Love and Logic Parenting among others. I understand that each person is an individual and tailor my therapeutic approach to that individual while incorporating Cognitive Based, Solution Focused, and Humanistic techniques. I believe that each individual and family has the ability to overcome whatever obstacles they face, and will work to help you unlock that potential while increasing self-esteem, empowerment, and connectedness.
