About My Clients

Are you someone who considers yourself to be highly capable and yet you're feeling stuck? Maybe you're feeling stuck in managing your child's difficult or anxious behaviors, or maybe you experience perfectionism, anxiety, or OCD yourself and haven't yet found your groove in managing it. Together, we will explore existing patterns and work toward changing them using well-researched tools that you will make your own.

My Background and Approach

My formal education and training in psychology spanned twelve years and took place across four different states. Each training experience brought further refinement of my clinical skillset as well as additional areas of specialization. I enjoy working collaboratively with patients and families so that treatment responds to unique needs and preferences, while also drawing from "best practice" approaches that have been shown to be highly effective per research. I am often reflecting on my approach, updating it as the field of psychology evolves. I am regularly engaged in peer consultation with other psychologists so that we may support one another in developing or skills for treatment. My style has been described as authentic, direct, and relationship-oriented, as well as intellectual, yet practical.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in using well-researched treatments while not short-changing the importance of our relationship and your experience. I have found that common complaints of therapists are (1) that their skillset does not extend beyond active listening and common sense or (2) they focus on highly technical treatments at the expense of collaboration, relationship, and practicality. I seek to do both the technical and the personal, which requires my careful calibration of technical expertise, practicality, and empathy. Earning your trust is foundational to our work and requires self-reflection, humility, and strong communication. I enjoy working with a wide variety of populations and have special awareness and knowledge, and a history of advocacy.
