About My Clients

I specialize in eating disorders and body image concerns, but I also work with both individuals and couples struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationships, and life transitions. I am particularly passionate about transitions and struggles related to motherhood, including pregnancy and postpartum concerns, infertility, and pregnancy loss. However, you don't have to have "a problem" to come in - we all need support. Let's figure out what you need together!

My Background and Approach

Choosing to work with a counselor is an incredibly courageous thing to do - after all, you are voluntarily choosing to share your life story with essentially a complete stranger. That is not easy! I therefore strive to meet your courage with a safe and encouraging place for you to share struggles, explore patterns, and try out new ways to do life. I work from a relational and trauma-informed lens, but use a varied approach when counseling to explore practices that may work best for you. My therapeutic style is empathetic, warm, and genuine. I consider you to be the expert in your own life, and always want you to feel empowered in the work we do together. I also should note that along with my Master of Science in Counseling degree, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, so expect to hear a lot of nerd stuff about the science of the brain!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ population, as well as those of varied faiths and racial and ethnic backgrounds. I believe that while we are not defined by the world around us, our experiences must be understood in the context of our environment. I therefore hope to help you make sense of your world partially from this relational and systemic framework. This helps give us the tools to understand ourselves - what do we need, what do we want, and what resources do we have available to make those things happen? It also allows us to heal properly by calling out systemic and relational problems for what they are, and not for what they FEEL like they are (aka, some sort of defect in ourselves). Please reach out with questions or a short phone consultation - I hope to meet you soon!
