About My Clients
My clients are interested in the future world of therapy. They are people who love to create and cultivate what they have from a place of truth. Maybe someone who loves to dance, maybe relies/d on substances to loosen up, maybe apprehensive to try bottom-up approaches. My clients recognize that talk therapy might not be the best approach for them and instead are curious to feel held and supported in a safe space for them to explore their emotions through movement, art, music, poetry, and breath.
My Background and Approach
For the past 5 years, my practice has been focused on helping people get rid of pain (emotional, physical, somatic) through a holistic approach. As the primary rehabilitation counselor on Bellevue Hospital Center's adult inpatient medical-psychiatry unit, I worked alongside individuals in states of overwhelming crisis, as well as those storing lifelong complex trauma from feeling subordinate to the systems in which they rely on. We'll address what's going on in your brain when you feel taken off your center, in micro and macro shifts, and how to get in touch with different parts of your central nervous system to find instant relief. I'm committed to helping you become a more whole, integrated individual by giving you a range of tools to choose from. With at least five tools at your disposal, you won't need to compartmentalize or shrink yourself, nor will you have to keep people-pleasing to feel complete.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As president of the New York State chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association, I advocate for the therapeutic benefits of dance/movement therapy. Through education and amplifying underrepresented voices, I work towards fostering lasting change. Additionally, I am pursuing a trauma certification focused on somatic psychotherapy and expressive arts.
