I earned my certificate of Adoptive and Foster Family Therapy in June 2017 and utilize a background of attachment theory with my work in this area.

I particularly enjoy helping clients with anxiety to develop effective coping strategies to decrease the intensity of their anxiety symptoms. This involves a variety of techniques and interventions, but I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy.

One of my favorite focuses in therapy is in helping parents to learn effective parenting skills for their particular child so that they feel empowered and able to manage their child’s behavior in a positive and effective manner. I am a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapist and have also been trained as a Parent-Child Relationship Therapist.

I have several years experience working with families including couples and parents and children. I have taken multiple trainings on family therapy, couples therapy, emotionally focused therapy, Gottman couples therapy, military families therapy, and parenting skills.

I approach all my sessions with a person-centered approach and the goal of offering each client my unconditional positive regard. This means that I see each client as valuable, worthy of respect, and doing the best they can with what they have.

I frequently incorporate CBT interventions and techniques into my therapy sessions because I’ve found that it offers valuable tools and resources that have helped my clients to gain coping skills and create new ways of thinking about their experiences that decreases symptoms of distress.

I am a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapist with proven success in teaching parents skills to manage children’s behaviors related to anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, attachment issues, and autism.
