About My Clients
I care deeply about my clients. They are resourceful and resilient individuals who meet with me to collaborate towards increased relational insight, self-discovery, and overall improved functioning. In my practice, I avoid labeling or pathologizing, instead favoring a strength-based and holistic approach. My clients also know that I understand cultural differences and how these can impact our life experiences and the therapy process.
My Background and Approach
I offer counseling in a welcoming setting where my clients can experience what it is like to be seen, heard and validated without a fear of judgment. My work with clients includes relational, strength-based and solution-focused psychotherapy with the goal of increasing relational capacity and deepening self-awareness. I am an LPC Associate, a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Strength-Based Coach. I have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and I have counseling experience from various clinical settings including in-patient, partial-hospitalization, private practice, university counseling center, and from business settings, coaching established professionals. I am also knowledgeable about 12-step models, and when appropriate, may integrate 12-step program support to treatment with individuals who were raised in dysfunctional families or who are impacted by addictive behaviors. I am also comfortable addressing issues of spirituality when requested.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The human brain is wired for survival and social connection. We are relational because our brains are relational - we are wired to connect. Isolation and disconnection from others, ourselves and our purpose cause us suffering. Therapy can provide an avenue to cultivating growth fostering relationships so we can heal from our past hurts and move towards hope, deepened self-discovery, and improved relational functioning.
