I have worked with children and young people for over 15 years across multiple settings including schools, outpatient mental health clinics, adoption organizations and in private practice. I have extensive training in child-centered therapies and am passionate about working with children by speaking their language using play therapy, EMDR for children and Theraplay, a family-based play therapy to strengthen and build the parent-child relationship.

Completion of 2-year Post-Master's training in Play Therapy. 15 years of experience providing non-directive play therapy with children ages 3-12 yrs old.

12 years specializing in EMDR, attachment-focused EMDR, and training in child and adolescent EMDR training to an advanced level. The Flash Technique is also to help people overcome the toughest of experiences and reduce or eliminate the distressing symptoms or anxiety, panic, stress and trauma and begin to live a freer more joyful life.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is approved by the American Psychological Association for the treatment of PTSD. It is also highly effective for those who have had distressing experiences that are still impacting daily functioning but there is not a diagnosis of PTSD.

I have completed foundational certification in Theraplay - a parent-child attachment enhancing play therapy. The program also builds parenting confidence and positive parenting techniques. Theraplay has been used with children on the Autistic Spectrum and who have been fostered or adopted for many years. The treatment program is typically 18-25 weekly parent-child sessions and periodic parent-only sessions. Please enquire if you would like more information and I would be glad to email a handout.

Training in mindfulness-based CBT for anxiety, depression, panic and as part of treatment for trauma resolution.

I work to help you develop coping tools using mindfulness, grounding techniques and Emotional Freedom Technique so that you have the internal resources to overcome anxiety, depression, somatic/body-based symptoms and trauma.

I have worked with children and parents for more than 15 yrs as a play therapist and have continued to grow in providing trauma and attachment specializations including training in EMDR for children and teens, sand tray, EFT for kids, Child-Parent-Relationship-Therapy (CPRT) and hold foundational certification in Theraplay-based therapy a kind of play therapy for children and their parents. I was a traveling therapist in England for 9 yrs and have extensive experience in parenting coaching.

I have been trained in non-directive and semi-structured child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy and mindfulness with kids combined with play therapy. I completed a two-year post-master's internship in play therapy and early childhood mental health in 2006. I have a deep commitment to working with children and adolescents of all ages and have been trained to work with children and young people ages birth to 18.

Worry about future events is a normal part of being human. Anxiety, on the other hand, develops when the nervous system is highjacked leaving the body feeling keyed up and tense, or shut down, ready to fight, run or freeze for survival. Anxiety can be overwhelming and make us feel powerless against it. Here's the good news. Anxiety is treatable and change is possible. EMDR, Somatic work and Mindfulness based CBT are highly effective approaches in overcoming Anxiety.
