About My Clients
All of us are faced with the struggle between what we can control and those things that are beyond our human ability. We feel the pressures constantly which often leads to feelings of helplessness, frustration, and sadness. The key to changing these patterns lies deep within our inner thoughts but begins with self-compassion.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in both community based mental health agencies and in private practice and have been able to work with and help clients with very diverse and complex issues. As a result, my approach is eclectic. I utilize Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Narrative therapy among other therapies based on the needs of the client. I am genuine, empathic, and direct. The therapist-client connection Is vital to creating the space needed for effective self-exploration, healing, and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The more I work with clients, being with them and helping them through their very personal struggles and sharing the joy with them in their successes, the more I realize how we, all people, have the same needs. We all want to create a life where we are loved and valued for our uniqueness. Unfortunately, that's not always the case and imposed differences have caused feelings of isolation, marginalization, and dehumanization. I believe we all need to surrender to acceptance and love of all humans and all beings.
