With over two decades of diverse educational and experiential learning through multiple modalities, Roderic Burks brings a depth of experience academically and clinically to his work with clients. Having studied in over seven universities, featured on national television, and accomplished multiple degrees and certifications in counseling psychology, mind-body medicine, wellness, and management, Mr. Burks provides an intentional space to explore one's Self through soul-centered learning.
My Background and Approach
Mr. Burks graduated cum laude from Adams State University with a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and from George Washington University with a master’s in Clinical Management and Leadership, bringing a wealth of academic and clinical expertise to his therapeutic work. He furthered his education with a master’s in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, where he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship. Additional studies at Maryland University of Integrative Health and the University of Santa Monica honed his expertise in Integrative Health and Wellness and Applied Non-secular Spiritual Psychology. He also trained in the Clinical Depth Psychology doctoral program at Pacifica Graduate Institute. With advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Jungian and Depth Psychology, DBT, CBT, group therapy, and Positive Psychology, Mr. Burks offers a comprehensive and customized approach to holistic counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, I am deeply aligned with the works of influential figures such as Jung, Hulnick, Seligman, Perls, Rogers, Yalom, and many other contributors to depth psychology, positive psychology, Gestalt psychology, self-psychology, reality therapy, non-secular spiritual psychology, DBT/CBT, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, mind-body medicine, Internal Family Systems, and existential and humanistic psychologies. I view the lessons we encounter on this Earth as part of a profound curriculum designed to illuminate our intended work and guide us toward personal growth and fulfillment. I explore the "goal line" and "soul line" principles through a soul-centered perspective to help individuals connect with their whole Self. By engaging in "Ego-work," I support clients in discovering their authentic selves and cultivating a holistic, rich, and fulfilling life, often leading to greater ease and grace in resolving the challenges that disrupt their peace.
