About My Clients

The emphasis in therapy is placed on a soul-centered approach to therapy, whereas we see Earth as a curriculum for the Soul. Thus, we aim to graduate from this curriculum by working on our process to resolve disturbances in our peace. Therapy promotes a mind, body, and spirit process to address these disturbances effectively.

My Background and Approach

Mr. Burks graduated cum laude from Adams State University with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and from George Washington University in Management and Leadership with a clinical focus. Mr. Burks earned a master's degree in Mind-Body Medicine with an emphasis in Integrative Mental Health from Saybrook University, where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship and continues as a doctoral candidate. He studied at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, emphasizing naturopathic psychiatry, the University of Santa Monica in applied Spiritual Psychology, and the Depth Psychology doctoral program at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Advanced training includes non-secular Spiritual Psychology, The Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, hypnosis, DBT, CBT, group therapy, Positive Psychology, consultation on naturopathic psychiatry, and work with performing artists having trained at Berklee College of Music.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

With over 25 years in healthcare, I have found myself most aligned with the works of Carl Jung, Drs. Ron and Mary Hulnick and many contributors to Depth Psychology, Positive Psychology, Gestalt, Self-Psychology, and Relational Psychology, to name a few. I believe lessons bestowed upon us on this Earth are a curriculum meant to illuminate the Authentic Self. Through a soul-centered lens, we align ourselves with our Authentic Self, and I believe, from my experience in service to others, the "Ego's" purpose of accumulating "status and things" no longer drives our life's purpose exclusively. When we do our "Ego-work," we take “Soul” responsibility for our lives, realize the innateness of who we are, and promote peace under all circumstances.
