I like to help. Plain and simple. I know the value of a great listener, someone who cares, is skilled, and truly wishes the best for me.

Growth can be painful at times. Stress, anxiety, depression, and many other symptoms arise to let us know we are at a crossroads; we have competing needs. Through self awareness and the ability to know what is going on with you physically, mentally, and emotionally, you can choose your next move from an informed place, minimizing the risk of an undesired, typically automatic, fear based response. Every moment becomes an opportunity for personal growth.
Grief shows up in the body the same as pain. Literally, the same receptors light up for pain as for grief. Since the moment we are born, we experience loss, as it is a natural part of life, however it can be subtle, moderate, or tragic, leaving a lasting impact. Many things in life go undigested; the little losses add up, the big losses take their toll. Learning to make friends with, honor, and accept grief is healing and necessary for the ability to feel and express all emotions.
All family welcome! LGBTQI+ issues are as diverse as each member that makes up the greater rainbow community. This is a safe and brave space to explore issues of belonging, safety, expression, relationship to self and others, coming out, marriage, gender roles, gender identity, spectrum of femininity and masculinity, family, politics, religion (oops, are those taboo... not here!) and any other thing that may be troubling you.
Eclectic because I draw from so many theoretical orientations that I cannot honestly say I am faithful to one. I see the usefulness in an integrated approach to therapy, considering the mind, body, emotions, spirit, and environment in the healing process. Since each individual is as unique as each theory, I like to find elements that match well between the two. I draw from evidence based practices but do not stop there.
Eco-regulation occurs when nature is a regulating factor for you, yielding a beneficial effect on your nervous system. Whether holding a session outdoors, or working with the metaphor of nature indoors, the various elements provide a rich opportunity for personal growth and developing an understanding informed by natural processes and a sense of reverence and communion with something greater than our individual selves. Perhaps, even spiritual.
Learning the language of YOUR body is crucial for living a full life. As we tend to thoughts, we tend to physical sensations. A tightening stomach could indicate feeling threatened. An expansion in the chest could signal love, joy, hope. One aspect is learning to notice the body-happenings, another is to invite body-happenings as a way of shifting a present moment experience. Inviting the body into our day to day awareness and fostering a healthy relationship is the focus of somatic therapy.
