About My Clients
Are you suffering from painful memories? Have you experienced trauma or difficult life events that you are afraid to address? In my sessions, I create a safe space to start the healing process. I only ask that you bring your authentic self and an open mind towards growth. I specialize in helping those who feel marginalized, anxious, listless, and confused about their life's direction. I invite you to reach out to me and take that first step towards healing, renewal, and happiness.
My Background and Approach
I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained and use imaginal nurturing with trauma-focused therapy. I bring a unique background and skill-set from my work in the motion picture industry. I combine EMDR and solution-focuses therapies in a manner tailored to clients’ needs. I believe therapy should be collaborative, client-centered, and build upon each person’s resilience, strengths, and goals. My holistic framework provides insight, new perspectives, and the opportunity to make successful life adjustments. I am particularly interested in healing early attachment rupture and the fractured inner-child, as it can be crucial to happiness, self-realization, and personal growth. I believe authenticity and respect are essential to therapy. Using a strength-based, forward-looking approach, I facilitate understanding, compromise, and communication with the ultimate aim that clients gain self-awareness, a sense of belonging.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my world-view that systemic societal inequities and false or misplaced expectations often leave us feeling disappointed and failed. To avoid falling into fatalism, anxiety, or depression, we must be intentional in our lives and actively challenge the status-quo. This is why I am an active mentor in the Big Brother's Big Sisters program and work to empower those around me to take an engaged stance towards the obstacles they face in their lives. I am LGBTQA+ affirming and support the fluid spectrum of gender and identity.
