About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who have anxiety, stress around work, thinking about career change, self-esteem struggles, depression, grief, loss, or end of relationship challenges, processing family dynamics such as children of alcoholism / substance use, siblings of alcoholism / substance abuse, learning to set boundaries within family or in relationships. With some clients, homework is a very helpful tool, so that might be something to expect, but it might not be necessary with all clients.
My Background and Approach
I am Latinx provider who enjoys working with clients in the Eriksonian Stages of Psychosocial Development and the attachments early in life and through the life cycle. More specifically, I enjoy helping clients find the actual problem they are facing or the reason why they are feeling stuck. I enjoy working together with my client to find the solution to what is troubling them. I've always been drawn to service since I was a young person and I have always enjoyed helping other people. I really enjoy listening to others, helping them to find the root of what is causing them distress, and helping them come up with a solution that works for them. I have been working in the New York City area for 15 years, working with diverse populations and diverse socioeconomic situations. Cultural competence is important in my practice working with varying racial, religious, ethnic, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I love working with diverse populations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been working with underserved, high risk populations ever since starting my social work career. Even when I was not working, I would often devote my time to volunteering at a food pantry. I very much enjoyed fundraising to help families and individuals across the country who are struggling with food insecurity. I often make donations whenever there is a natural disaster.
