About My Clients
My ideal clients come in knowing they want to change, but are stuck and unsure of where to begin. If that is you, I’m here to help. During our sessions together, we will work collaboratively as you process through and feel your emotions, ask and answer questions, gain new perspectives while challenging old ones, and develop insight as you move through the stages of change at your own pace.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to work myself out of a job. I want to get you to a place where you feel you no longer need therapy, and you feel equipped to take on the stressors of life. I work to lead you to your own moments of insight and equip you with tools and skills that will be applicable throughout the rest of your life, empowering you in every situation. I usually take a more directive approach, using solution-focused techniques associated with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model, but also pull in concepts from Narrative and Bowenian models as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We not only occupy a physical body, but we live in a mental space as well. These two worlds are inseparably intertwined. When you suffer in one area, you suffer as a whole. My goal is to get you more connected to this truth, and help you become more adept at addressing each area appropriately.
