Welcome! I am an experienced therapist who is deeply committed to helping teens and adults. I also supervise trainees and interns.

Attachment theory looks at how early attachment to caregivers is replicated in adolescent and adult attachment styles. This way of thinking and understanding can be illuminating and will help us work towards creating more fulfilling relationships in the present.
Psychodynamic therapy looks at the past, the unconscious, and the relationship between the therapist and client as significant in the healing process. I have found this method of deep work to be most beneficial for long term change and growth.
I have years of training and practice in working with people who are abusing or are addicted to substances. I view addiction on a continuum and have worked with hundreds of people who use substances to help manage feelings and behaviors. I also see addiction as often being closely connected to early childhood trauma, genetics, and learned behaviors.
I am a seasoned adolescent therapist and specialize in working with teens and families. I have extensive experience working with hundreds of adolescents in my practice as well as in the schools throughout the Bay Are where I provided individual short and long term therapy, worked with families, facilitated trauma based groups, and supervised and trained interns.
I work with parents to help navigate this very challenging and exciting phase of development. Often, old ways of parenting that once were effective no longer work as well with teens. This stage of development can be difficult for the entire family and I will help you figure out how to effectively parent your teen.
Often, people seek therapy during life transitions: pre-marital counseling, marriage, the birth of a child, teen turmoil, illness, divorce, empty nest, a job change, aging or a pandemic. These life transitions also offer a chance to reevaluate our lives and make necessary or long over due changes.
